HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Set 1: MIT claimed the opening point and gradually established an 11-2 lead courtesy of an ace by Daphne Gavros. The Engineers maintained a comfortable cushion as they won the first set, 25-12, on an ace from Ella Zhou.
- Set 2: MIT controlled the action in the second stanza as it raced out to a 12-1 advantage and later built a 22-5 lead following a block by Claire Underwood and Eileen Sadati. Regis replied an 8-1 run; however, back-to-back hitting errors secured a 25-14 victory for the Engineers.
- Set 3: MIT won the first three points of the frame, but the Pride stayed close as a kill brought it within 8-5. The Engineers capitalized on a kill from Adelyn Wyndham, a pair of aces by Gibbs, and a hitting error to create some breathing room. Regis countered with its own four-point burst, trimming the deficit to 12-9. This was as close as it would get as a kill by Jessie Trapp ignited a 13-0 match-ending run.
