The MIT sailing team capped a busy weekend with a third-place finish at the Mrs. Hurst Bowl as the team concluded its third week of fall racing.
HOYT TROPHY | PROVIDENCE, R.I. | 9th of 18
- MIT took ninth overall with a combined 116 points.
- Robert Ulmer and Ellie Pinto finished seventh in the 'A' Division with 53 points. They earned three top three finishes and ended the day with a second-place finish.
- Will Kulas and Elliott Chalcraft took 10th in the 'B' Division totaling 63 points. They had two top five finishes and ended the competition with a fourth-place finish.

- The Engineers 1 boat took eighth overall with 17 points while the Engineers 2 boat took 13th with 93 points.
- In the 'A' Division, Ryan Hoffman and Alice Colby finished 11th with 40 points while the Engineers 2 boat with Lucas Escandon and Layla Bursor finished in 12th with 51 points. The Engineers 1 boat had a top finish of sixth and the Engineers 2 boat had a best finish of eighth.
- The Engineers 1 boat of Adé Larsen and Andy Yu finished in fifth with 17 points. They opened the racing with a second-place finish and followed with three-straight fifth-place finishes. Jan Mistak and Diba Demir steered the Engineers 2 boat to a 10th place finish with 42 points highlighted by a sixth-place finish.

- The Engineers took third overall with a total of 125 points. They tied with Harvard but took the tie breaker based on head-to-head competition.
- In the 'A' Division, MIT took tenth place with 73 points. Christine Keedy Brown and Brooke Barry collected three top five finishes, ending the regatta with a fifth-place finish.
- Karya Basaraner, Emma Wang, and Sophia Woodbury steered the 'B' Division boat to a fourth-place finish with 52 points. They had four top three finishes including two wins.
UP NEXT:
- Next weekend the Engineers will compete at the Women's AAC Round 1A Regatta, the BU Trophy, the Danmark Trophy, and host the Smith Trophy. Racing will take place from Saturday, September 27-Sunday, September 28.
