DMR Sets Program Record for No. 6 Men's Track and Field at Saucony Battle for Boston

BOSTON, Mass. —  Tim Neumann, David Whitaker, Davis Lee and Jared Steins combined to set a new MIT program record in the Distance Medley Relay as the No. 6 MIT men's track and field team ran on Sunday evening at the 2026 Saucony Battle for Boston at the Boston University Track and Tennis Center.

TOP PERFORMERS - Track Events:

  • Distance Medley Relay: MIT finished ninth overall and as the top Division III entry with a new program record time of 9:40.52. The DMR squad down the previous mark of 9:44.98 set in 2023. 
  • 400m: Kristian Praizner finished sixth in 50.71.
  • 3000m: Jake Cobb was the runner-up with an NED3 automatic qualifying time of 8:20.86. 

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

  • The DMR was the second fastest in NCAA Division III history. It is the fastest time in the region and the second best in NCAA Division III this season. 

NEXT UP:

  • MIT will compete at the New England Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships at The TRACK at New Balance on Sunday, March 1.
