MIT Ranks 11th in Learfield Directors' Cup Division III Winter Standings

CLEVELAND – MIT is currently ranked 11th in the 2025-26 Division III Learfield Directors' Cup Winter Standings.
 
MIT (515.50 points) is 35.25 points ahead of Wartburg and is just seven points back of tenth place Emory (522.00). NYU (812.25) leads the overall standings but the Violets are just 1.25 points ahead of second place Williams (811.00). Wash U. (787.50) is in third, Johns Hopkins (784.00) is fourth and Tufts (739.75) is fifth. MIT currently leads the NEWMAC, with Babson remaining second in the conference standings with 233.00 points. Springfield (161.00), WPI (125.50) are all ranked inside the top 100 overall.

MIT earned winter points in men's and women's swimming and diving and men's and women's indoor track and field. MIT claimed 73.5 points in women's swimming and diving thanks to the Engineers' sixth place finish at the NCAA Division III Championships. The men's swimming and diving team earned 61.5 points for finishing 14th at NCAAs. In indoor track and field, the women's team placed eighth nationally to earn 70.5 points while the men's team added 38 points thanls to a 33rd place finish at nationals.

In the fall, MIT earned 143 points from the men's and women's cross country programs, with both squads finished in the top ten at the NCAA Division III Championships. MIT added 64 more points in women's soccer as the Engineers advanced to the third round of the NCAA tournament, and 64 points for advancing to the regional final in women's volleyball.
 
The Learfield Directors' Cup was developed as a joint effort between the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) and USA Today. Points are awarded based on each institution's finish in NCAA Championships.
