The MIT sailing team kicked off the fall season with three races over the weekend of September 12-13, earning three sixth place finishes and a seventh-place finish while competing in rainy conditions on Sunday.
TONI DEUTSCH TROPHY | CAMBRIDGE, Mass. | 6th of 17 (164 Points), 7th of 17 (168 Points)
- The two-day event was shortened to one day due to consistent rain on Sunday with the Engineers 2 Boat placing sixth and the Engineers 1 Boat Finishing seventh.
- Engineers 2 boat 'A' Division team of Karya Basaraner and Alice Colby finished fourth place with 66 points. They won two races while finishing in the top-five in six of 10 races. In the 'B' Division, Sophia Woodbury and Ada Kilian collected 98 points for 10th with three-top 10 finishes.
- The Engineers 1 Boat 'A' Division team featuring Emma Wang and Noelani Li finished the right behind the 2 Boat in fifth with 68 points. After 10 races the team had four top-five finishes. Kaitlyn Beaver and Layla Bursor put up 100 points after day one for 12th earning three top-five finishes.
HARRY ANDERSON TROPHY | NEW HAVEN, Conn. | 6th of 17 (123 Points)
- MIT finished sixth overall as racing was canceled on Sunday due to weather.
- In the 'A' Division, Robert Ulmer and Ellie Pinto totaled 63 points. They had four top-five finishes in the nine races.
- Will Kulas and Elliott Chalcraft finished day one in seventh in the 'B' Division with 60 points, including a win and three top-five finishes in eight races.
