  • Records: No. 10 MIT (9-1 Overall, 1-0 NEWMAC); WPI (6-5 Overall, 0-1 NEWMAC)
HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • Set 1: Tied at 7-7, a kill by Sabine Smith sparked a 7-1 run for MIT. The hosts maintained a small cushion throughout the set as an ace from May secured a 25-17 win.
  • Set 2: After another tight start, a 6-1 burst that was capped by another May ace created a 15-9 lead. Sparked by a kill from Spees, WPI responded with its own 6-1 run to come within 16-15. The hosts countered with an 8-2 run as a kill from Smith resulted in set point. A Spees kill, an MIT hitting error, and an ace by Jennah DiMartino extended the frame, however, a kill from Miller Grimes thwarted the comeback attempt.
