Sailing Races at Mrs. Hurst Bowl and Sherman Hoyt Trophy

The MIT sailing team competed at both the Hoyt Trophy and Mrs. Hurst Bowl over a stormy weekend. 

 
HOYT TROPHY | Providence, R.I. | 8th of 16 (170 Points) 

  • Only one day of racing was completed due to weather with MIT finishing eighth overall. 
  • Robert Ulmer, Elliott Chalcraft, and Ellie Pinto led the 'A' Division boat to a fifth-place finish with 69 points, just one point behind Yale for fourth. The team earned a win and a second-place finish to highlight the day of racing. 
  • Will Kulas, Ryan Hoffman, and Chalcraft finished 12th in the 'B' Division with 101 points and they finished strong, winning the final race of the day.  

MRS. HURST BOWL | Hanover, N.H. | 17th of 18 

  • Emma Wang and Alice Colby were on the 'A' Division Boat that took 17th. Only one race was completed during the weekend. 

UP NEXT: 

  • MIT returns to action next weekend for four regattas, highlighted by the Women's ACC Round 1A. They will also host the Smith Trophy and compete at the Danmark Trophy and at the BU Invite.
