Why MIT?

"I chose MIT because I think it’s one of the few places where I could really find a community of people like me. I’m someone who is very academically driven, but I also like pursuing my interests outside of school and taking them as far as I can. What draws me to MIT is that there are so many people who have that same mindset: people who care deeply about what they’re studying, but also have completely different passions and interests that they pursue just as seriously. At the same time, I really value being around people who know how to find balance and support the people around them rather than seeing everything as a competition. I think that combination creates a really special community. And beyond the people, MIT feels like a place where there really isn’t a limit to what you can try. If you have an idea, there are people, resources, and opportunities around you to actually make it happen. That’s the kind of environment I want to be a part of."
