Off the Field at MIT: Majoring in materials science engineering and physics ... was an intern at the Lockheed Martin Advanced Technology Laboratory where she studied integrated photonic circuits and created a simulation software that accurately models waveguide coupling with less than 10 percent error; assembled photonic circuits by splicing single and multimode fibers and testing the resulting loses; authored several hazardous materials deliverables for military approval of product development … working at Brigham & Women’s Hospital and Harvard Medical School, she assisted laboratory research on axolotl limb regeneration and genetic sequencing; also observed growth and collected data daily to identify trends in the subjects’ growth and development … as an intern at Saathi Eco Innovations, she assisted the development of 100% biodegradable sanitary pads made from banana fiber for women in India; she tested tensile strength and absorbency of various non-woven materials made from bamboo, hemp, and viscose to find a suitable, biodegradable alternative to the polypropylene top layer … interned at Draper Laboratory studying development of litz nanowire and also researched thermoelectric devices for development of liquid cooling systems … conducted a UROP in the Brushett Laboratory researching convection enhanced electrochemical energy storage devices … PLUS Foundation National Scholarship … NYCM Scholarship … Community Catalyst Leadership Program ... member of the MIT Symphony Orchestra ...
