Anne Versprille enters her 10th season as the MIT women's lacrosse head coach and physical education and wellness instructor in 2026. A two-time NEWMAC and IWLCA Regional Coach of the Year, the Engineers captured the 2025 NEWMAC Championship and made their third straight appearance in the NCAA Tournament. In 2024, Versprille became the all-time winningest coach in program history.
Versprille came to MIT from Endicott College, where she served as an assistant coach for the Gulls for two seasons. At Endicott, she was responsible for coaching the goaltenders, film breakdown and assisting with recruiting, practice planning and coaching. In both of her two seasons, the Gulls advanced to The Commonwealth Coast Conference Tournament, including reaching the league finals in 2016. Versprille also coached six IWLCA All-Region selections, 12 All-Conference players, one ECAC New England All-Star and one conference Defender of the Year.
In addition to her collegiate coaching experience, Versprille was a four-year standout goaltender at Springfield College, where she graduated from in 2014 with a Bachelor of Science in movement and sports studies. A two-year team captain, she was a three-time NEWMAC All-Academic selection, the 2013 NEWMAC Tournament Most Outstanding Player and was named to the All-Conference Second Team in both 2012 and 2013.
In her final season in 2014, Versprille was named as the NEWMAC Player of the Year and was a First Team All-Conference honoree, IWLCA Berkshire All-Region First Team selection and member of the IWLCA Academic Honor Roll.
Versprille was selected to participate in the 2017 NCAA Women Coaches Academy.
