HANOVER, N.H. - Over the weekend, the MIT men's heavyweight and lightweight crew teams traveled to Dartmouth College to take part in the Green Monster Invitational, a novice-only three-mile event. The Engineers entered two lightweight boats and one that was a mixture of heavyweight and lightweight rowers. MIT finished eighth overall at the invitational behind Harvard and UMass.
MIT's A and B lightweight boats finished a second apart in 17th and 18th place. Boat B, led by coxswain Robert Radway (Chicago, Ill.) finished with a time of 17:44, while boat A, led by Anthony Mark, crossed the line in 17:45. Both teams completed the event ahead of a Dartmouth and a Harvard boat. The boat that contained both heavyweight and lightweight members, with William Qian (Springfield, Va.) in the bow, came in 21st with a time of 18:45.
MIT will conclude its fall season on Saturday, Nov. 10 when it races at home in the Foot of the Charles event.
