CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - MIT men's lightweight crew team competed in the Foot of the Charles on a cold November Saturday in Cambridge. This is the final regatta of the fall season; the Engineers will not return to the water until April of 2014 for the start of the spring season. Tech entered one varsity 8 boat and two pairs in the annual event.

In a race that included heavyweight, lightweight and novice rowers, the MIT varsity 8 boat started the morning off with an eighth place finish in 14:29.2. Boston University's A boat completed the course in first place in 12:56.0. The Engineers finished less than two seconds faster than Harvard's boat that completed the course in 14:31.0.

In the final event of the day, the Cardinal and Gray fielded two pairs, with the B boat finishing in fourth place with a time of 16:19.5 and the A boat following soon after in seventh place out of 21 boats in 16:37.7.

Tech will next race in April of 2014, traveling to California to open the spring season at the San Diego Crew Classic.
