HANOVER, N.H. - The MIT men's lightweight team traveled to New Hampshire to take part in the Biglin Bowl against Dartmouth and Harvard on Saturday morning. The Engineers entered three Varsity 8 boats in the event, finishing second in two of them and third in the other.
The first Varsity 8 race was won by Harvard with a time of 5:41.2, but was followed soon after by Dartmouth and MIT boats with times of 5:45.1 and 5:53.5 respectively. In the second varsity race, MIT came in second with a 5:56.7, a few seconds behind first place-finishing Harvard with a time of 5:48.1. The Big Green was third in 6:03.4.
Results were much the same in the third varsity race, with the Crimson leading the race from start to finish, completing the course in 6:02.7. The Engineers followed in 6:13.1 and Dartmouth was third in 6:31.3.
MIT will next travel to Ithaca, N.Y. to race in the Geiger Cup against Cornell and Columbia on Saturday, April 20, starting at 8:40 a.m.
