HANOVER, N.H. – Battling cold temperatures and light rain on the Connecticut River, the MIT men's lightweight crew team captured 13th place at the Dartmouth Green Monster on Saturday. Competing in an event for novice crews, all but two members of the Engineers' boat saw their first action of the year.
The three-mile course featured a slight tail wind and flat water which helped MIT log a time of 16:26.0. The Engineers crossed the finish line three seconds ahead of the B entry from UMass and 12 seconds in front of Holy Cross's B boat.
The race concluded MIT's fall portion of its schedule and it will return to the water in March.
