CLEARWATER, Fla. – In the first game during the MIT men's lacrosse team's spring training trip to Florida, the Engineers fell to Amherst College, 21-5, on Saturday. For the second game in a row freshman Harris Stolzenberg (Weston, Fla.) was the top point-getter as he posted one goal and two assists for the Engineers (3-3).

Junior Chris Cook (Tully, N.Y.) posted one goal and one assist as sophomore Luke Verdi (Middletown, Md.) recorded one assist and four groundballs for MIT. Sophomore Paul Orrson (Baltimore, Md.) along with freshmen Henry Merrow (Hopkinton, N.H.) and Michael Traub (Aliso Viejo, Calif.) rounded out the scoring with one goal apiece. Senior Joel Santisteban (Lawrence, N.Y.) led the way with four caused turnovers while classmate Tim Wilczynski (Old Lyme, Conn.) added two of his own. Freshman Matthew Kalinowski (Toms River, N.J.) collected three groundballs as junior John Kramer (Glastonbury, Conn.) totaled three groundballs and two caused turnovers. In net, sophomore Eric Bartell (San Diego, Calif.) registered 11 saves and six groundballs.

Next up for MIT will be a trip to Saint Leo University on Tuesday, March 25.
