HANOVER, N.H. – Racing on a chilly, blue-skied Sunday afternoon on the Connecticut River, the MIT men's lightweight crew team claimed 12th place at the Dartmouth Green Monster. Competing in an event for novice crews, all of the members of the Engineers' boat saw their first action of the year.
MIT's unit, comprised of one junior, one sophomore, and seven freshmen, covered the three-mile course in 17:46.6. The Engineers crossed the finish line nine seconds ahead of the B entry from Boston College and 22 seconds in front of Harvard's D boat.
The race concluded MIT's fall portion of its schedule and will return to the water in March.
