CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – For the second week in a row, the MIT men's lightweight varsity 8+ nearly picked up a win but Harvard edged out the Engineers by one second in the Biglin Bowl on Saturday. The Engineers also finished second in the JV4+ while placing third in the second and third varsity 8+ races.
The Crimson nipped MIT with a time of 6:47.40 in the varsity 8+ race while Dartmouth finished a distant third (7:02.10). The Cardinal and Gray's second varsity 8+ (7:27.60) came in seven seconds behind Dartmouth while the third varsity 8+ (7:43.10) was five seconds back. Harvard won both races with times of 7:04.60 and 7:13.90 while topping the Engineers, 10:09.40 – 10:24.20 in the JV4+.
Next up for MIT will be a trip to Philadelphia on Saturday, April 18 where it will compete against Delaware and Penn on the Schuylkill River.
