HOW IT HAPPENED:

- In the third inning, Blake Frampton scored on a sacrifice fly to give the Tigers a 1-0 advantage before a 10-run inning in the fourth staked the hosts a sizable edge in an inning that included four hits.

- MIT struck for three in the seventh as junior Alec Kushner (Cooper City, Fla.) singled to right center to score sophomore Thomas Allison (Kingwood, Texas) to get the Engineers on the board. Freshman Zach Roberts (West Chester, Pa.) picked up a two-RBI triple to right center as well, scoring senior David Heller (Fairlawn, N.J.) and senior Kyler Kocher (Mesa, Ariz.).

- In the eighth, sophomore Matt Johnston (Portola Valley, Calif.) homered for the first time this year as he launched a shot to center field to make it an 11-4 game. In the ninth, Heller's RBI double to left center accounted for the final score as freshman Ethan Rolland (Burke, Va.) came around to score and cap off a solid opening weekend to his career.
