The Lead:Â The fifth-ranked MIT women's soccer scored two first-half goals en route to a 2-0 victory over Emerson on Saturday afternoon.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Senior
Eva Anderson (Edina, Minn.) took a pass from freshman
Natalie Barnouw (Los Angeles, Calif.) and put it past the Emerson goalkeeper for her first goal of the season at 13:57.
Â
- In the 30th minute, sophomoreÂ
Isabella Struckman (Scottsdale, Ariz.)Â sent a pass over to junior
Ceci Muñoz (Maplewood, N.J.) who placed a perfect kick for the score to give the Engineers a 2-0 advantage.
Â
- The MIT defense did not allow Emerson to get anything going on the offensive side of the field, holding the Lions to just two shots in the game, with neither being on net to secure the shutout win.
