- The Lead: Junior Paige Forester (Glencoe, Ill.) produced two goals and an assist in a 4-0 victory over Wheaton College in a NEWMAC field hockey game on Tuesday night. The Engineers recorded back-to-back shutouts for the third time this year and their seventh shutout of the season.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED:
 
- Forester put MIT on the board following a penalty corner after 9:33 elapsed. The slim lead held until senior Lucy Kitch-Peck (Bethlehem, Pa.) found the back of the cage in the 19^th minute. The Engineers claimed a 3-0 advantage with 1:44 left in the second quarter when junior Erica Radler (Wayne, N.J.) knocked in a feed from Forester.
 
- Following a scoreless third quarter, junior Liberty Ladd (Falmouth, Maine) set up Forester for her 23^rd goal of the season in the 50^th minute.
 
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
 
- MIT had the upper hand in shots (17-4), shots on goal (9-1), and penalty corners (10-6).
 
- Senior goalie Kiely Smiga-McManus (Etna, N.H.) faced two penalty corners and one shot in 45 minutes of action. Classmate Juliana Strother (Mequon, Wis.) made one save as she faced three shots and four penalty corners in the final frame.

- MIT returns to action on Saturday, Oct. 30 when it closes out the regular season with a 3:00 p.m. game at NEWMAC rival WPI.
