The Lead: No. 13 Babson College scored twice in the first half and got goals from three different players to defeat visiting MIT, 3-0, in NEWMAC field hockey action on Saturday afternoon at MacDowell Field.

- Babson jumped on top just over 11 minutes into the game when
Lauren Curley took a pass from
Millie Brady in the middle of the circle and ripped a shot past senior goalie
Juliana Strother (Mequon, Wis.). MIT successfully defended a pair of penalty corners late in the first quarter and another early in the second before
Meara Hanyon put away a penalty stroke at the 18:14 mark.

- The Beavers tacked on an insurance goal 2:18 into the fourth quarter when
Quinn Greer redirected a blast by Brady from outside the circle on the right wing.

- Babson ended the day with advantages in shots (17-5), shots on goal (8-0), and penalty corners (11-6).
