HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Senior
Karenna Groff (Weston, Mass.) put the Engineers up early converting on a penalty kick goal at 6:13 for her eighth goal of the season.
- Just over six minutes later, sophomore
Meagan Rowlett (Dana Point, Calif.) made it a two-goal game taking a pass from first-year
Natalie Barnouw (Los Angeles, Calif) and putting an off-angel shot into the back of the net at 13:29.
- At 21:55, first-year
Ashley English (
Sheboygan, Wisc.)  took an incredible pass from
Grace Xiong (Princeton, N.J.) that went by the Smith defense and took a perfect shot from almost 40-yards out and got the ball just under the crossbar for her first collegiate goal which all but sealed the victory for MIT.
- Smith was able to get three shots off in the second half looking to get on the scoreboard, but as it has been all season, the MIT defense held strong and secured the shutout.
