The Lead: The MIT water polo team hosted Division I Brown University on Saturday morning and the Engineers suffered a tough 15-7 defeat to the Bears.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Â
- The Engineers took an early 1-0 lead with a goal from sophomore
Evan Kowal (South Pasadena, Calif.) but Brown responded with back-to-back goals to take a 2-1 lead.
Â
- Senior
Kyle Sandell (Mountain View, Calif.) tied the match at 2:04 in the first, however, Brown scored the next three goals to pull ahead 5-2.

Miller Geschke (Los Altos, Calif.) made it a 5-3 match as the senior netted a goal at 4:23 in the second quarter. First-year
Richard Yun (Irvine, Calif.) added another goal for the Engineers but Brown went into the break with an 8-4 lead.

- The Bears continued to add to their lead, outscoring MIT 7-3 in the second half to take the match by a 15-7 score.Â

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

- Geschke and Yun led the way for MIT with two goals each while Sandell, Kowal and senior
Kaden DiMarco (Eugene, Ore.) each tallied a score.
Â
- Geschke now has a team-leading 27 goals while Sandell has scored 22 times this season.
