- The Lead: In the 2021-22 home opener, the MIT men's basketball team had four players finish in double figures as the Engineers came away with a 92-91 home win over Husson University in the first-ever meeting between the two programs.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

- MIT was led by a 24-point, seven-rebound, five-assist performance from senior
Giannis Chatziveroglou (Athens, Greece) as he finished 11-for-19 shooting from the field. Junior
Alex Cho (San Diego, Calif.) knocked down five threes and finished with 22 points and a game-high nine assists, while senior
Julian Manyika (San Francisco, Calif.) also connected on five three-pointers and finished with 16 points. First-year
Kade Killeen (Austin, Texas) nearly had a double-double with 12 points and nine rebounds, along with 10 points from sophomore
Charles Rich (Holladay, Utah).

- For Husson,
DJ Bussey led the way with 20 points as he was one of five players to finish in double figures.
Justice Kendall added 17 points, three assists and two steals, with 15 points and a team-high six assists on 7-for-12 shooting by
Justin Thompson.
Cam Wood was excellent on 6-for-7 shooting from the field to finish with 13 points, along with 12 points and seven boards by
Jeremy Moronta.
Jared Balser was the game's top rebounder with 10 boards as the two teams were even at 39 rebounds each.

- Both teams shot similar percentages from the field, three-point land and the free throw line. However, MIT outscored the Eagles by a 48-27 margin from behind the three-point line.
