- The Lead: Led by five players in double figures, the MIT men's basketball team raced to a 96-39 road win over Lesley University in non-conference play on Saturday afternoon. The win evens MIT's record at 2-2 on the season.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

- The Engineers jumped out to an 8-0 lead just 3:30 in, capped by a layup from senior
Dan Pilsbury (Millington, N.J.) at the 16:30 mark. The lead climbed to 32-8 midway through the opening half and all the way to 59-21 at halftime as the Engineers shot a blistering 60.6 percent from the field over the first 20 minutes.

- MIT opened the second half on a 22-5 run, ended by a three-pointer from first-year
Kade Killeen (Austin, Texas) that gave the visitors an 81-26 advantage with 9:10 remaining. The lead remained in the same range for the rest of regulation, en route to the 96-39 final.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

- For the game, MIT shot 58.6 percent from the field and connected on nine three-pointers (47.4 percent from three). On the defensive end, the Engineers forced 20 turnovers and held the Lynx to just 25 percent shooting from the field.

Spencer Lin (Menlo Park, Calif.) led MIT on the scoreboard with 21 points on 8-for-12 shooting, followed by 18 points from Kileen. Pilsbury ended the day with a 13-point, 11-rebound double-double, along with 12 points and eight assists from senior
Ian Hinkley (Raleigh, N.C.) and 11 points by sophomore
Charles Rich (Holladay, Utah).
