Cho Nets Season-High 29 in Home Setback to Keene State

THE BASICS:
 
- Score: Keene State 92, MIT 74

- The Lead: Despite a game-high 29 points from junior Alex Cho (San Diego, Calif.), the MIT men's basketball team had its three-game winning snapped in a 92-74 home loss to Keene State on Saturday afternoon.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED:
 
- The game was even over the opening 8:30 of play as the Engineers held a slim 15-14 edge after a three-point play from sophomore Christian Rich (Holladay, Utah). The Owls countered with a decisive 12-0 scoring run over the next 4:03, capped by a pair of James Anozie free throws that made it 26-15 in favor of the visitors.
 
- MIT cut the lead down to three at 29-26 with 4:42 remaining in the half after a jumper from Cho, but the Owls closed the half on a 14-6 run to take the 43-32 advantage into the break.
 
- The Engineers narrowed the margin to six at 43-37 after a layup by senior Dan Pilsbury (Millington, N.J.) early in the half before the Owls pushed it back to double figures at 52-40 with 15:19 on the clock. Keene State led by as many as 20 at 92-72 in the final seconds before the 18-point win.
 
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
 
- Cho finished with 29 points, six assists and four steals on 12-of-19 shooting from the field. Senior Ian Hinkley (Raleigh, N.C.) had 14 points and a team-high six rebounds, along with 10 points from Pilsbury to go along with five rebounds, four steals and two assists.
 
- Jeff Hunter led the Owls with 19 points and nine rebounds, while Anozie added an 18-point, 10-rebound double-double. Nate Siow posted 18 points, six assists and four steals, along with 15 points from Mason Jean Baptiste.
 
- Both teams shot well from the field with the Engineers shooting 51.9 percent and the Owls shooting 58.1 percent. MIT finished 13-of-15 from the free throw line, while Keene State held a 34-22 rebounding advantage and forced 18 MIT turnovers.
