HOW IT HAPPENED:

- Over the first 10 minutes, the game was very even and the Engineers held a slight 23-22 advantage. The Vikings cut the lead down to seven at the break, including layup by Chris McDonald with 1:01 on the clock to make it 41-34 at the half.

- Hinkley and sophomore Charles Rich (Holladay, Utah) knocked down threes to start the second half for the MIT offense and the Engineers led by a 54-38 margin at the 16:11 mark. Later in the period, Hinkley nailed a three with 6:46 remaining on the clock to push things to 20 points at 70-50 before the Engineers came away with the 16-point final margin of victory.

Rich posted a career-high 22 points on 8-for-12 shooting from the field and junior Alex Cho (San Diego, Calif.) added 10 points in 33 minutes. Senior Dan Pilsbury (Millington, N.J.) was the team's leading rebounder with 11 boards to go along with seven assists.
