The Lead: The MIT men's water polo team got 10 goals from
Miller Geschke against Connecticut College as the Engineers split the two matches on Saturday. After a tough match against Harvard, MIT responded with a 20-5 victory over the Camels as the Engineers honored their four seniors before the match.

HOW IT HAPPENED – Game One vs. Harvard
Â
- A goal by senior
Kyle Sandell (Mountain View, Calif.) tied the game at two at the 4:11 mark of the opening quarter. Harvard responded with a 5-1 run, building a 7-3 advantage at the end of the frame.

- MIT battled back, narrowing the gap to 9-6 following a strike by senior
John Steele (Old Greenwich, Conn.) with 3:25 left in the second stanza. An exchange of goals ensued, moving the score to 11-7 at halftime.

- The third quarter was a balanced affair as both teams generated three goals, preserving the four-goal lead for Harvard.

- First-year
Richard Yun (Irvine, Calif.) trimmed the deficit to 14-11 after 1:38 elapsed in the fourth quarter. The Crimson replied with back-to-back goals to create some breathing room midway through the period. The Engineers closed out the scoring with markers by Sandell and Steele during the last two minutes of regulation.

- Sandell led a balanced attack with three goals while Steele, Yun, senior
Miller Geschke (Los Altos, Calif.), and sophomore
Evan Kowal (South Pasadedna, Calif.) each posted two goals.

Kaden DiMarco (Eugene, Ore.) paced MIT with four steals followed by three from Yun.

- Geschke earned four ejections as Yun and Sandell both had three.

Conrad Oakes (Pasadena, Calif.) collected 12 saves and four steals.

HOW IT HAPPENED – Game Two vs. Conn. College
Â
- Before the start of the match the Engineers honored their four seniors for their contributions to the program:
Kaden DiMarco (Eugene, Ore.), Miller Geschke (Los Altos, Calif.), Kyle Sandell (Mountain View, Calif.) and
John Steele (Old Greenwich, Conn.)

- MIT recorded five of the first six goals and held a 7-2 lead at the end of the first quarter.
Â
- Connecticut College posted two goals early in the second period, but the Engineers replied with 12 unanswered goals as the run ended on a strike by DiMarco with 5:23 left in the game.

- The Camels ended their scoring drought a minute later while Geschke capped the scoring, recording his 10
th goal of the game.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

- In addition to Geschke's 10 goals, Sandell and DiMarco both produced three goals. Sandell increased his team-leading total to 68 while Geschke has 58 and DiMarco has 25.

- Geschke's 10 goals tied a program record, which Sandell set earlier in the season.

- Oakes made 16 saves in net and assisted on five goals and added two steals in the match.
