The Lead: The 13th-ranked MIT squash team earned a 7-2 victory over No. 23 Navy during opening action of the UVA Round Robin Invitational on Friday night.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Senior
Aman Sanger (New York, N.Y.) fell behind 2-1 to
Millen Randell at #1 but rallied with back-to-back 11-6 victories to secure the victory.
- At the #8 position, senior
Robert Williamson (Weston, Mass.) rallied from down 2-0 taking the next three sets by scores of 13-11, 11-9 and 11-9.
- Sophomore
Collin Wen (Short Hills, N.J.) secured a 3-0 win at the No. 6 position while in #9, first-year
Saechow Yap (Pepper Pike, Ohio). also swept his opponent.
UP NEXT:
- The Engineers are back in action tomorrow with two scheduled matches. The team will take on hosts UVA at 12pm followed by a match with Franklin & Marshall at 6 pm.
