No. 7 Women's Soccer Blanks Roger Williams, 4-0

The Engineers Remain Unbeaten This Season

THE BASICS:
- Score: No. 7 MIT – 4, Roger Williams - 0
- Records: MIT (5-0-1); Roger Williams (4-2-0)
- Location: Cambridge, Mass. (Roberts Field at Steinbrenner Stadium)
- The Lead: The No. 7 ranked MIT women's soccer team continued its home-turf dominance as the Engineers shutout visiting Roger Williams 4-0 behind goals from four different players.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Engineers took a quick 1-0 lead in the first half as Natalie Barnouw (Los Angeles, Calif.) sent a perfect corner kick into the front of the box where Kayla Villa (St. Charles, Ill.) headed it in for her first goal of the season at 8:22.

- In the 62nd minute, sophomore Meagan Rowlett (Dana Point, Calif.) got past the Hawks defense with some nice footwork and knocked the ball just inside the goal post at 61:11 to give MIT a 2-0 lead.

- Just 44 seconds later, junior Stephanie Howe (Geneva, Ill.) made it 3-0 as she took a pass from classmate Kaitlin Zareno (Montebello, Calif.) from the corner and placed the ball just over the outstretched arms of Roger Williams' goaltender, Morgan McCutcheon.

- Ceci Muñoz (Maplewood, N.J.) wrapped up the scoring for the Engineers as she corralled the ball off a free kick attempt by Grace Xiong (Princeton, N.J.) for her third goal of the season at 71:50.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
- With her assist in the game, Barnouw has now registered a point in three straight games and in four of the Engineers six games this season as she leads the team with 11 points.

- Lauren Castle (Ridgefield, N.J.) earned her third shutout victory this season.

- The MIT defense has been strong this season as they allowed just four shots in the contest and have allowed just four goals this season, all coming on the road.
