- Records: MIT (6-0-1, 1-0-0 NEWMAC); Clark (3-2-0, 0-1-0, NEWMAC)
- Location: Worcester, Mass. (Granger Athletic Complex)
- The Lead:  The seventh-ranked MIT women's soccer team hit the road for a top-25 contest against #22 Clark to open NEWMAC play, and it was the Engineers coming out with the 3-0 victory on Saturday afternoon behind three points from junior Kaitlin Zareno (Montebello, Calif.).

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- It was a tight opening frame with MIT and goaltender Ava Gillikin (Flemington, N.J.) getting tested early, but the Cougars were unable to get anything by the junior netminder.
- Sophomore Meagan Rowlett (Dana Point, Calif.) gave MIT the 1-0 lead at 38:34 as she broke free from the Clark defense and fired a shot into the bottom right-hand corner of the net for her fourth goal of the season.
- Zareno gave MIT a 2-0 lead at 52:46 when she took a beautiful outlet pass from Karenna Groff (Weston, Mass.) and fired the ball into the back of the net.
- In the 59th minute Zareno sent a pass to first-year Mia Sedgwick (Wilmete, Ill.) who snuck it past Morgan Small to give the Engineers a 3-0 lead.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
- Gillikin made five saves on the day to improve to 3-0-1 on the season.
