Forester opened the scoring less than three minutes into the contest when she ripped a backhanded shot from seven yards out into the back of the cage. Less than two minutes later, Forester struck again, this time losing her defender and firing in a blast from the left wing.

MIT pushed its advantage to 3-0 when Forester completed the hat trick just 59 seconds into the second quarter. The Engineers would head into the halftime break with a 4-0 lead as junior Liberty Ladd (Falmouth, Maine) redirected a Forester blast in front of the cage in the 28th minute.

Ladd added her second of the contest in the 39th minute courtesy of a feed from sophomore Lydia Patterson (Houston, Texas), for the lone goal of the third quarter. Forester capped the scoring when she followed up her own rebound for her fourth marker of the day in the 51st minute.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

- MIT ended the game with advantages in shots (35-0), shots on goal (19-0), and penalty corners (12-3).

- Seniors Juliana Strother (Mequon, Wis.) and Kiely Smiga-McManus (Etna, N.H.) split the game in net and weren't forced to make any saves.

- Forester was one goal shy of tying the MIT record for goals in a game and was two points away from tying the program mark for points in a game. Katherine Merrilees '97 set the single-game goals record of five in 1992 and it was tied by Kameron Klauber '12 in 2011. Merrilees also established the single-game points mark of 11 in 1994, which was also match by Klauber in 2011.
