HOW IT HAPPENED:

- The Engineers looked to strike early and often in the first half with 11 shots in the first 45-minutes of play. Junior Meagan Rowlett (Dana Point, Calif.) had the best opportunity in the 24th minute, but her shot rang off the post.

- Groff broke the scoreless tie a few minutes later when she took the ball into the box and tucked the shot into the corner of the goal at 28:39.

- MIT wasted no time in making it a two-score game as Groff sent a pass into the front of the net for Rowlett who put the ball into the corner at 47:24.

- Groff and Rowlett connected for the third Engineer goal of the game at 60:15, but this time Rowlett set up Groff for the score with a cross-field pass.

- Senior Ceci Muñoz (Maplewood, N.J.) made a great effort to get by the Bears' defense and put a shot into the corner of the goal at 87:00.
