Â
HOW IT HAPPENED:
Â
- The Pride looked to get on the board in the 12th minute as Gabby Scott took a shot that rang off the post.
Â
- Senior
Brigette Wang (Clarksville, Md.) had an opportunity to give MIT a lead with a freekick with just under two minutes to play in the first half, but the shot went off the hands of Springfield keeper
A. Harper for their eighth save of the half.
Â
- In the 70th minute, Wang broke free off a pass from graduate student
Gillian Schiffer (Arlington, Va.) and put the ball past Harper to give the Engineers a 1-0 lead.
Â
-
Kaitlyn Suller looked to tie the match, but her shot was turned away by senior
Ava Gillikin (Flemington, N.J.), and a shot from
Kayla McGrath in the 85th minute rang off the crossbar.
Â
