- The Lead: At the season-opening Sharon Colyear-Danville Season Opener at Boston University, sophomore Sam Engebretson (Sioux Falls, S.D.) competed in the shot put to open the 2022-23 indoor track and field season.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED:
 
- In his first competition of the indoor season, Engebretson captured the shot put with a throw of 52 feet, four inches as he shattered his previous personal best by over 16 inches.
 
UP NEXT:
 
- MIT is back in action on Saturday, January 14th as the Engineers host Bates and Southern Maine for a tri-meet.
