Men's Squash Bested by Rochester, 7-2, in Opening Round of CSA Championships

THE BASICS:
- Scores: No. 10 Rochester – 7, No. 15 MIT – 2

- Records: MIT (8-9); Rochester (7-7)

- Location: Philadelphia, Pa. (University of Pennsylvania Squash Courts)   

- The Lead: In the opening round of the CSA Team Championships in the Hoehn Cup "B Division" the No. 15 MIT Engineers fell to No. 10 Rochester, 7-2.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
-  Junior Matt McManus (Philadelphia, Pa.) secured a straight-set win over Alejandro Porras Diaz in the No. 8 position, 11-6, 13-11, 11-8.

- In the fourth position, sophomore Eli Kramer (Brooklyn, N.Y.) and Luis Moncada played a thrilling set match with Moncada pulling out the victory. Kramer was able to take the first two sets before Moncada went on to take the next three.

- In the No. 7 slot, senior Keith Lamp (Short Hills, N.J.) took a 3-1 win over Emilio Carrillo, 11-7, 2-11, 11-9, 11-4.

- Graduate Student Bill Wu (Eagleville, Pa.) won the first set in his match in the No. 5 slot but was bested in four sets by Omar Zkaria.

- After dropping the first set, sophomore Nikhil Kakarla (Philadelphia, Pa.) took the second set in exciting fashion, 19-17, however, Jacob Koeppel won the next two for the win in the sixth position.


UP NEXT:
- MIT will be back in action tomorrow for a 3 p.m. contest against Williams College.
