The Lead:Â The No. 15 MIT men's squash team dropped a heartbreaking 5-4 match in the second round of the CSA Team Championships in the Hoehn Cup "B Division" to No. 14 Williams on Saturday afternoon in Philadelphia, Pa.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Â Graduate student
Joe O'Connor (Madison, N.J.) held an 11-1 lead in the third set before his opponent retired. First-year
Tom Hogan (Malvern, Pa.) registered a 3-0 win in the third position, 12-10, 11-9, 11-7
.
- Sophomore
Eli Kramer (Brooklyn, N.Y.) took down
Wyatt Khosrowshahi in four sets while in the No. 7 spot sophomore
Collin Wen (Short Hills, N.J.) also grabbed a four-set victory.
- The match came down to the No. 5 contest between
A.J. Solecki and graduate student
Bill Wu (Eagleville, Pa.). Solecki took a 2-1 lead but Wu tied it up with an 11-4 victory to force a decisive fifth set that saw Solecki win, 12-10 to secure the victory for the Ephs.
