The Lead:Â The MIT men's squash finished the MASC Championships with a 2-1 record as the Engineers defeated Dickinson and hosts Franklin & Marshall but lost to the University of Virginia to secure a third-place finish.
HOW IT HAPPENED – Match One vs. UVA:
- Â The Cavaliers held off the Engineers, winning seven of the nine matches in three sets.
- Â First-year
Tom Hogan (Malvern, Pa.) claimed the lone win for MIT, defeating
Cullen Little by a score of 11-8, 11-7, 7-11, 11-4
- Sophomore
Collin Wen (Short Hills, N.J.) took
CJ Baldini to four sets but fell 11-8, 9-11, 11-4, 13-11.

HOW IT HAPPENED – Match Two vs. Dickinson:
-Â After dropping matches in the top-two slots, Hogan grabbed a four-set win (10-12, 11-4, 11-3, 11-9) over Mark Naguib.
- The Engineers then swept courts 5-9 to seal the win with Wen, junior
Matt McManus (Philadelphia, Pa.), senior
Keith Lamp (Short Hills, N.J.), and first-year
Saechow Yap (Pepper Pike, Ohio) all winning in straight sets.

HOW IT HAPPENED – Match Three vs. F&M:
- Senior
Aman Sanger (New York, N.Y.) took a win in the first spot with a 7-11, 11-5, 11-6, 11-4 win over
Petr Nohel, and Hogan took a four-set win over Teddy Eill in the third spot (11-7, 9-11, 11-7, 11-5.
- Graduate student
Bill Wu (Eagleville, Pa.) and sophomore
Nikhil Kakarla (Philadelphia, Pa.) took wins in the fifth and sixth spots, both winning in four sets.
- Lamp won his match in the ninth spot with a straight-set win (11-8, 11-6, 11-4). Â
