- The Lead: No. 22 WPI jumped out to a 15-0 lead early in the first half as the MIT men's basketball team dropped an eventual 66-41 final to the Engineers in a NEWMAC contest on Wednesday night at Rockwell Cage.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

- Behind a trio of three-pointers, WPI staked to a 15-0 lead over the first seven minutes of play. The Worcester Engineers took a 31-14 lead into the half break as they shot 46.1 percent from the field and held MIT to 16.7 percent shooting in the period.

- In the second, WPI maintained at least an 18-point advantage over the Cambridge Engineers as the visitors completed the regular-season series sweep with the 25-point victory.

Giannis Chatziveroglou (Athens, Greece) led MIT with a 12-point, 11-rebound double-double to go with nine points and seven rebounds by senior
Ian Hinkley (Raleigh, N.C.) and five assists from junior

John Lowther was the leading scorer in the game with 19 points for WPI, along with 12 points for
John Adams and an 11-point, 12-rebound double-double by
Colin McNamara.

- MIT forced 16 WPI turnovers and posted 11 assists on 15 made field goals. WPI outrebounded the hosts by a 45-38 margin, including a 37-28 margin on the defensive glass.
