The MIT Men's and Women's Swimming and Diving programs honored their senior class on Saturday February 12 after their Senior Meet against Amherst on January 29 was canceled due to the blizzard. This class has played an integral role in the program's success since their arrival on campus and have accomplished many incredible feats both in the pool, classroom and community. They continued to work hard and preform at the highest levels both in the pool, in the classroom and in the community despite the unprecedented challenges they have faced.
Interim Head Coach James Sica notes “While we were disappointed that our senior meet was canceled at the end of January due to weather, that could not stop us from honoring this incredible class! Their journey at MIT and as part of our swimming and diving family has been unlike any other, but their dedication and resiliency in the face of unprecedented challenges has been essential to our team’s continued success. Their leadership helped keep our team together while we had to be physically apart, and they paved the way for a successful return to competition during the 2021-22 season. We are so grateful for the time we’ve had with the Class of 2022 the last four years, and we cannot wait to see what the future holds for this incredible group!”
Now let's meet the graduating class and hear from them about what some of their favorite moments were and what they will be doing after graduation.
