The Lead: The MIT men's lightweight Varsity 8+ wrapped up a full weekend of racing by defeating Bates College and Boston College on Sunday morning.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Varsity 8+ led right from the start and held off a move by Bates in the last 600 meters to finish in 6:00.2. The Bobcats crossed the line 6.2 seconds later while BC was third in 6:21.3.
- The Second Varsity 8+ had a strong start, but Bates made a comeback in the second 1,000 meters before eventually winning in 6:12.8. The Engineers logged a time of 6:15.0 as the Eagles finished third in 6:25.4.
