Men's Tennis Falls to RPI, 5-0, in the Second Round of the NCAA Tournament

THE BASICS:
 
- Score: No. 22 RPI - 5, No. 30 MIT - 0
 
- Records: MIT (12-7), RPI (16-2)
 
- Location: Middlebury, Vt. (Proctor Tennis Courts)
 
- The Lead: The MIT men's tennis team's season came to an end in the second round of the NCAA Tournament as the Engineers fell to No. 22 RPI, 5-0 in Middlebury, Vt. on Friday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
 
- RPI took a 3-0 lead after doubles. Sophomore Sundeep Chakladar (Redondo Beach, Calif.) and first-year Wayne Nelms (Baltimore, Md.) saw their 10-match winning streak came to an end as they fell 8-6 in two doubles.  
 
- Junior Richter Jordaan (Denver, Colo.) fell in a second set tiebreak in five singles, 6-3, 7-6 (7-4) to end the match. Junior Derek Shen (Chestnut Hill, Mass.) was in a decisive third set in No. 1 singles with the final set tied at two when the match was completed.
