- The Lead: The sixth-ranked MIT women's soccer team dropped a heartbreaking 1-0 decision to Claremont-Mudd Scripps Colleges on Saturday afternoon in the Manchester Women's College Cup. The loss is the first regular season non-conference loss for the Engineers since September 26, 2018, against Tufts.

- MIT controlled the tempo in the first half before
Laurel Ovenell sent a corner kick into the front of the net where
Annie McKinley headed the ball into the corner of the net at 31:54 to put CMS up 1-0.

- Neither team got much going in the second half with only CMS putting a shot on cage. MIT looked to tie the match in the final few seconds but attempts from first-year
Shreya Kalyan (Troy, Mich.) and sophomore
Ashley English (Sheboygan, Wis.) went wide and CMS held on for the 1-0 win.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
- The Engineers outshot the Athenas 12-6 with CMS putting two shots on net while MIT only got one on target.
