- The Lead: Two second-half goals by sixth-ranked Tufts proved to be more than enough as the Jumbos defeated the 17th-ranked MIT women's soccer team in a top-20 matchup, 2-0, on Roberts Field on Tuesday afternoon.  
 
HOW IT HAPPENED:
 
- Senior Lauren Castle (Ridgefield, Conn.) kept it a scoreless game in the 27th minute as she made a diving save on a Maddie Pero shot.
 
- Tufts looked to once again get on the board midway through the first half, but the MIT defense blocked three-straight Jumbo shots to keep the game scoreless. The Engineers responded with two shots from senior Ceci Muñoz (Maplewood, N.J.) and sophomore Ashley English (Sheboygan, Wis.), but Tufts keeper Kaelin Logue turned both away.
 
- At 56:59, Claire Wilkinson sent a pass across the field to Erin Duncan right inside the box and put the ball past a diving Ava Gillikin (Flemington, N.J.) for the goal.
 
- Wilkinson made it a 2-0 game at 75:01 as she tucked a shot into the far post for her first goal of the season.
 
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
 
- Tufts held a slight advantage in shots (11-8) and shots-on-goal (6-3). They also held a 3-2 advantage in corner kicks.
 
- Castle made one save in net for MIT, and Gillikin turned away two shots as drops to 2-1.
 
- Logue got the win for Tufts with three saves in the game.
