Meagan Rowlett (Dana Point, Calif.) scored twice for the No. 6 MIT women's soccer team as the Engineers played to a tough 2-2 tie on the road against Johnson and Wales on Tuesday night.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- It was a scoreless match before
Jordan Restivo took a shot from the top of the box and found the top right corner for a JWU goal in the 26th minute of action.
- The Wildcats did not have the lead for long as Rowlett notched her first goal in the game just a few minutes later at 27:52 to tie the match.
- Rowlett gave the Engineers the lead at 61:02 as she took a pass from senior
Ceci Muñoz (Maplewood, N.J.) and put it into the back of the cage.

Emily DeRoehn headed in a corner kick from
Sophia Iovino in the 67th minute to bring the match even at 2-2.
- Graduate student
Karenna Groff (Weston, Mass.) looked to give MIT the win in the waning seconds, but her shot went wide and the teams settled for a 2-2 draw.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
- The Wildcats outshot MIT 12-6 and held a 9-1 advantage in corners.
- In net, seniors
Ava Gillikin (Flemington, N.J.) and
Lauren Castle (Ridgefield, Conn.) split the game as Gillikin made three saves while Castle made one.
- Rowlett now has a team-high four goals and 10 points.
