The Lead: A late rally fell just short as the MIT squash team returned to the courts for the first time in 2023 and dropped a 5-4 decision on the road to Amherst College on Friday afternoon.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- First-year
Bobby Albani (Newton Square, Pa.) took a 3-1 win in the sixth position with a 12-10, 11-9, 8-11, 11-7 victory over
Matthew Granovsky.
- First-year
Mitav Nayak (Bryn Mawr, Pa.) took a tough five-set match in the eighth slot over
William Okurowski. Nayak took the first two sets by 11-6 scores before Okurowski won the next two, 11-8, 11-6 to force a decisive fifth set that Nayak won 11-8.
- MIT won in the top two slots as junior
Eli Kramer (Brooklyn, N.Y.) earned a 3-2 win in the number one position and sophomore
Tom Hogan (Malvern, Pa.) defeated
Adam Lichtmacher 3-0 in the two slot.
