The Lead: The No. 17 MIT men's squash team snapped a three-match losing streak with a 5-4 victory over No. 14 Bates College on the road on Tuesday evening.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Engineers took wins in spots 2-4 with sophomore
Tom Hogan (Malvern, Pa.) and first-year
Hyun Su Price (Philadelphia, Pa.) taking 3-0 wins. In the #4 slot, junior
Collin Wen (Short Hills, N.J.) earned a 3-2 triumph over
Ashton Monteiro.
- A win by juniorÂ
Nikhil Kakarla (Philadelphia, Pa.) in the #6 position gave MIT four wins, but Bates grabbed wins in #1, #7, and #9 to make it a 4-3 contest.
- Junior
Yos Wagenmans (Seattle, Wash.) gave MIT the decisive fifth win with his 3-1 victory in the ninth spot.
