THE BASICS:

- The Lead: The MIT men's swimming and diving team opened its 2023-24 season with a great evening in the pool as the Engineers competed against Harvard on Friday night in the Zesiger Center pool.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Junior
Roderick Huang (Cupertino, Calif.) had an excellent opening night in the pool with victory in the 200-breast (2:06.31) and a second-place finish in the 200 IM (1:54.39). He also took fourth in the 100-breast with a time of 58.35.
- Senior
Jaden Luo (Austin, Texas) also put together a solid evening in the pool as he was a member of the 200-medley relay team that finished second and the 200-free relay that captured third, coming in just fractions of a second behind the team from Harvard. Individually, Luo finished in sixth in the 200-free (1:40.10) and the 100-yard free (46.37).
- Senior
Arnold Su (Irvine, Calif.) finished in second in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 56.57.
- Sophomore
Alvin Tsai (Mineola, N.Y.) was a member of the fifth-place 200-yard medley relay team and clocked in with a third-place finish in the 200-yard breast with a time of 2:11.18.
- Junior
David Benko (Budapest, Hungary) finished seventh on the one-meter (222.55) and on the three-meter (189.55). First-year
Jack Tucker (Naples, Fla.) took eighth with scores of 143.20 and 159.60.
