- The Lead: Led by a pair of goals from graduate student Paige Forester (Glencoe, Ill.), the No. 22 ranked MIT field hockey team powered to a 5-0 home win over Wellesley College on Tuesday night. The win marked the fifth shutout of the season for the Engineers and their second straight in NEWMAC play.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

- Junior Eva Oppenheim (Tiburon, Calif.) put the Engineers on the board with 10:05 left in the first quarter when she picked off a crossing pass and maneuvered around the goalie for her seventh goal of the year and the 1-0 edge. Sophomore Bailey McIntyre (Concord, Mass.) added to the lead on a shot through traffic from just inside the circle for the 2-0 advantage heading into the half.

- Just 3:46 into the third, first-year Ingrid Tomovski (Bosch en Duin, Netherlands) took a pass from junior Alice Zehner (Gladwyne, Pa.) off the penalty corner and blasted home the shot for her 10th goal of the year and a 3-0 margin.

- In the fourth, the Engineers had seven penalty corners and put constant pressure on the Blue with 12 shots overall. Forester scored her two goals within a span of 8:18 in the period, scoring the first on a pass from the goal line and the final goal amidst a scramble in front of the net.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

- First-year Maeve Zimmer (Rockville, Md.) made four saves in the opening 30 minutes to pick up the victory for MIT, while junior Anna Duncan (St. Louis, Mo.) did not face a shot over the final two quarters. Kyra Deehr-Lewis turned aside 12 shots for the Blue and Cassidy Novello put three good scoring chances on goal for Wellesley early in the game.
