HOW IT HAPPENED:
Â

Rome Delgado-Gonzalez (Miami, Fla.) converted a jumper.
Marckenley Lima knocked down a three for Wheaton just 20 seconds later to go back in front, followed by another three from
Ty Murphy for a 20-14 Lyons advantage.
Â
- Over the next 2:34 though, the Engineers used five points from first-year
Tim Minicozzi (Belmont, Mass.) to put together an 8-0 run and go back in front at 22-20. The Lyons led by just one at 33-32 with exactly two minutes remaining before the half before ending the period on a quick 8-1 scoring spurt for the 41-34 lead at the half.
Â
- Four quick points for Wheaton by
Alex Carlisle extended the Lyons lead to double digits for the first time at 45-34 as that grew to 21 at 62-41 over the first eight minutes of the second. The visitors continued to push the offensive pace throughout the final 12 minutes of the game, coming away with the 26-point win to earn the sweep of the regular-season series.
